Halloween Update

Finally took some pics that we can share with you guys.  Aaron made it to the 4th or 5th house before he realized that he could get his grubby hands on more candy if he just had us carry him from door to door.  After he consumed a ton of sugar he kept us up all night with a glow stick light show...

Last photos from Chicago

Sorry for the complete lack of updates over the past few months. Things have been a little crazy with the move to Houston and wedding season (four weddings in five weeks! - two down... two to go!). I promise to try to post some pics soon!! But in the meantime, here are some more pics Auntie Cathy took for us.

Random update

Sorry for the lack of recent updates!! It's hard to find time to take pics/videos in addition to chasing this guy around all day! Sadly, he's getting skinnier and skinnier from walking around so much, but thankfully, a few of the rolls remain. He is still constantly babbling incomprehensibly, but definitely understands a lot more! For example... today before we went to the grocery store I asked him, "Should we get some milk?" To which he replied, "Nai-nai." (His word for milk in Chinese.) Then I asked if we should get some blueberries. He replied, "Blu..." I then asked if we should get some cookies. He replied, "Cu-cu." (His word for cookies.) Then I asked whether we should get chicken. He replied, "Chi-ken." Then I asked if I could put on his shoes. "Xie-xie." (A-ma taught him shoes in Chinese during our most recent trip!) So he does pick up more than he lets on! If you ask him what sound a cow makes, he'll say, "Mooo..." but that's the only animal sound he knows. :) And now he can say "more" in addition to signing it. So he's making some progress!

Anyhoo, here are some random pictures from the last month or two. Hopefully will have more pics/videos from our recent trip to Houston that Yeye and Candace A-yi took.

I know this looks a little funny, but Aaron loves looking at us upside down. :)

A match made in heaven!

Aaron with two of his biggest fans. :)

Before Daddy left, this is how he kept an eye on Aaron while he was trading...

Aaron certainly kept busy with grapefruit and cans of Sprite!

"What's up?"

Aaron starts to stand and walk right after Daddy leaves!

"Where do you guys keep the vinegar?"

Potty trained! (j/k... we wish!)

New Videos!

More videos! In the first video, Aaron is "ballet" dancing... or maybe "breakdancing" for Mommy and Auntie Carol. He's shakin' what I gave him... and getting steadier by the day! In the second video, Aaron is pretending to feed me food he's picking from the ground and the bed. Unfortunately, I began taping after he was cracking up about it... so you'll just have to take my word for it (Andrew)! :P And in the final video, Aaron is "reorganizing" the cabinet and bringing tomato paste to store in the living room. The subsequent photos demonstrate what he had been doing the past few days. Usually, he can do this for about an hour and by the time he is finished all the tupperware and canned goods are out on the kitchen floor. But at least he has a good time for 30 min. to an hour! Aaron has also enjoyed "drinking" from a mug... and by drinking I mean, putting the wrong end of the mug to his mouth and spilling water everywhere. Surprisingly he was able to drink a lot of the water... pretty good considering the mug must be pretty heavy for him. :) And finally, Hurricane Aaron hits the bathroom... as Aaron tries to "organize" the drawers for me since apparently he finished in the kitchen. ENJOY! Aaron and I can't wait to see Daddy, George, Sophie, family and everyone else in Houston soon!! (Btw, Please excuse the ridiculous mess, I've been trying to pack!)

Videos galore!

Recent videos! Aaron is now SORT of walking... aka stumbling around, but he's finally feeling comfortable doing it and loves practicing. Cathy took a nice long video of him walking around. (Apologies for the random comments in the beginning, didn't realize the camera was on... :P) Aaron has also started to feed himself pretty well and knows a couple of signs... "eat" and "more". I also took a quick video of Aaron demonstrating "eat". The last video was taken during our play date with JT. Aaron really enjoyed drinking from Sandy's glass! Enjoy!

(Daddy, we miss you!!)

Snow... snow... and more snow!

You may have heard on the news... but, it snowed a lot in Chicago. About 20 inches. This morning, we went out to survey the damage. Most of the cars on our street were buried in snow. There was about 5 feet of snow in our alley. Luckily, a nice guy clearing out a neighboring alley, took time to clear ours as well! So we now can, IF we wanted to, venture out of our house. Aaron LOVED it. He was very excited and curious to see everything covered in snow and couldn't wait to stomp on it outside. (Nope, still not walking on his own yet! Any day now!) Lucky for him, this snow is going to be around for a LONG time. Andrew spent a few hours clearing (with the aid of a recently acquired snowblower) the sidewalk along the side of our house. I shoveled for about 20 minutes. :P It's exhausting! Hope everyone is staying warm!!

"Sophie, look at all the snow...!"

"Did you see this, Mommy??"

Our alley! You can barely see the trash cans!

Snowblowing.

Almost clear!

"Stomp stomp stomp!"

"It's so cold... but I can't stop touching it!"

"Wonder if I could tunnel thru the wall...? I can't see the street!"

"And I'm spent!"
